How to write captions on photos in the computer?

i have photos taken from all over the worl for slide show. i want to note down the places on each of the photos. please help!How to write captions on photos in the computer?
All versions of Windows has what is called ';paint';. Just click ';start'; then ';programs'; then ';accessories';.





Open up Paint, import your picture, choose text and type away. Then save the image as the file name you want or the same as before.





Text is the ';A'; icon. Click the icon, then click and drag a box where and the size you want. Then release mouse, type in message. You can resize it, move it, change its colors, put in a color background by drawing w/ the paint brush, etc.
