How can I convert closed captions to a text file?

I want to extract the closed captions from a dvd to a text file. Is there any program that will let me do that?How can I convert closed captions to a text file?
Give this software a look. I have used it for adding subtitles to a movie so I am not sure if it pulls them from one but worth a look. It is free and has a bunch of options so may do what you need it to.
